What does the course cover?

The course content has been developed and curated by subject matter experts and leading practitioners. It covers the following 6 modules:

Module 1 High-level introduction to climate change
Module 2 How climate change may impact GPs’ investment strategies
Module 3 Due diligence and portfolio company engagement
Module 4 Carbon footprint calculation and reduction
Module 5 How to disclose carbon/climate performance
Module 6 Climate change in action - Business cases

The course comprises 4 hours of self-paced study divided into 6 modules, including optional interactive quizzes and assignments to consolidate your learning progress. It offers several business cases as practical scenarios and further reading suggestions. 

 

Why should you take the course?

The course will provide you with practical tools and guidelines for identifying climate change-related risks and opportunities in private equity portfolio companies. Specifically, it will support your climate risk assessment and management activities, related to the various phases of the investment process; it will set out a high-level framework to scope, identify, assess, manage, and monitor climate-related risks, and, it will show how to identify the opportunities to be best positioned when transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

The course is aimed at all private equity practitioners taking their first steps in integrating climate change considerations and requirements in their investment process.

On-demand e-learning courses can also be accessed via Invest Europe’s e-learning platform.
